Frustrating and expensive afternoon!
what started as poor fuel supply has finished in my needing a new pump. Air was leaking in thru the input side banjo so I replaced with new plastic seals from a very small but excellent reputable supplier . They only supply these seals now preferring them to fibre.
so fitted, one either side, nipped up and - thread stripped in pump body. Measuring the amount of thread engagement with the standard banjo + bolt + 2 seals revealed only one and half threads of engagement.
banjo bolt measures 0.865” anyone got one they can measure quickly to see if this is correct or know of a longer banjo bolt that would fit that I could use as the pump body probably has 6-8 good threads beyond the stripped one.
