    Still going Strong

There were some on this Forum who previously forecast that my Stag would end up "Barn Find".
Well it has not turned into that yet, and if it passes it's ITV (road worthiness test) here in a few days, I can continue driving it until 2027 when it will be 50 years old.
Click on the attached Link to view it out & about in Tenerife just a few days ago, it's a 1977 auto model I bought in 1994 - so to date I have been running it for 28 years now.
It likes Tenerife & the higher temperatures here don't bother it at all. You need to put the sound on/up to hear what the engine now sounds like when I press the throttle pedal.

Glad to hear so Terry and fingers crossed for you for the ITV (over here that’s just another TV channel!) and more years of enjoyment in the best car in the world!

      Hi Terry,
Many years ago back in the mid 90s I sold my Stag engine to someone in Tenerife, I was doing the Rover conversion which was much more acceptable back then. I assume it wasn't to you?
What a great place to have a Stag!

No Dorian, I bought my Stag locally when I lived in North Wales, the one previous owner living in Deganwy, but had stored his Stag for a number of years in the large Boat House he owned in Llansanffraid Glan Conwy, just 100 yards from where we lived at the time. There are quite a few Stags on Tenerife, a blue, white,& red one within a 5 mile radius of where I live in Los Cristianos to name just a few. You can see some of the Classic Cars here (including 3 of the above mentioned Stags) by clicking on the video link below, when Tenerife broke the Guinness (Spanish version) Book of Records for the number of Classic Cars gathered together in one place at the same time, at an event just down the road in Las Americas. https://youtu.be/WaBbgVCBn70
PS. Have added some background music to at least one of the video clips.
PPS. It wasn't a manual French Blue Stag was it?, because if it was it is now the metallic blue one shown in the Los Cristianos clip on Carnival Day

              Hi Terry
Good to see the old girl out and about through those roads. Sounds smooth still
I may have missed it but didn't see or hear the short tunnel which we went under on the way to the Monkey park
How much is fuel out there at the moment?

To answer both Richard & Andrew, tickover was only recently temporarily set high to test out a couple of things on the car, it's a lot less when the engine is cold & first started, Andrew - nice to hear from you again, sorry we couldn't make it earlier in the year when Maureen was quite poorly & couldn't fly. Fuel prices have shot up quite a lot recently, a couple of months ago it was about 1 Euro per Litre for 95 unleaded, but has gone up by around 50% now. The Tunnel leading to the Monkey Park is shown on the video just after I have turned off by the Filling Station to get to the road we went on together in the Stag when you were out here some years ago.

That's quite a hike in fuel price. Good job you only use the car to go and play snooker once a week LOL
Glad to hear the over rider reverse parking sensors are still working

It's twice a week I play Snooker Andrew, not once, and the rear parking sensors fitted in my overiders have proved their worth since I fitted them.
We are off on another Cruise in August for Maureen's birthday - Corfu,Venice, and several stops along the Croatia Coast on a TUI Marella Cruise ship we did a Canary Islands Cruise on earlier in January this year - video Link :- https://youtu.be/gXLQMm68kBQ

Unfortunately I can't remember how I communicated with the buyer, probably by Fax if anyone remembers those. I'll go through my old documents and see if I can find who bought the engine, it would be interesting to know if its still going!

A former SOC Member whose Username was "Staggard" and who had lived on Tenerife longer than I have, one year flew back to the U.K. and purchased a manual French Blue Stag he had seen advertised and drove it back to Tenerife. Eventually he had it sprayed metallic blue, and put 4 exhaust pipes on it as well as quite a few other mods. Apparently he was a former Triumph Mechanic in the U.K. prior to Emigrating.
Don't know if that was your Stag or not, what colour was yours when you sold it?

Yep, Graham's Stag was auto, not manual.
I only do what the voices in my wife’s head tell me to do!
