    LEDs

Hi chaps, just fitted some green leds in the instrument panel, but they are not as bright as I expected. On the inside of the instrument body I painted white thinking this would help. Where I put the bulbs in were some green plastic domes which had perished which I removed would this be the cause do you think. Many thanks Steve.

I have fitted two sets of green to a TR6 and Stag they are quite bright - just right. I bought mine from Classic Car LEDs, did you buy yours from such a supplier or did you just get from Ebay when they might be a different lumens output, or a differnt beam angle when they might not scatter the light correctly?

I bought mine from Classic Cars Leds as well, Blue ones.
They are just right...not too bright, but I found the speedo was not bright at at all. Don't know why?

Have you bypassed the dimmer rheostat?

Hi, yes the smaller dials are good,it’s the speedo and Rev counter which are not so bright, I wonder if I stuck foil on the inside of the instrument body and see if that makes a difference. Many thanks chaps for your replies. Steve.

I fitted blue LED's from Classic Car LED's, very happy. I still have my dimmer, it seems to have no effect except turn them off at min rotation.

Yes mine was the same, it was basically an on/off switch -until it broke!

To bypass the dimmer take all of the wires going to it and put them on one side or the other.. If I remember correctly there are enough terminals.. if not then just connect them all together somehow.

Yes thats what I done. By passed the dimmer when Terry suggested it some time back. That time I was trying to find out which wire went where on the dimmer.
