    Channel Felt Fitting

    Morning

Can some kind person point me in the direction of channel felt fitting please?

I have searched every where and can only find links to SOC magazines that are before my time.

    Cheers

There are 3 types being supplied, too tight, too loose & soctfl correct size. Don’t waste time fitting the wrong stuff.

Spurred on by this thread and fed up with a N/S window that gets stuck I have decided to fit the N/S rubber window channels (SOCTFL) that have been lurking in the garage for some months. The links in this thread go back to before the SOCTFL item was available and I have a question about the fitting.
The old channels had evidence of being glued in place, not sure if they are original or fitted when the car had a major restoration back in the '90's.
Do the new channels require any glue or other fixing to stop them working their way down the window frame?

            Thanks Alan

I have answered my own question. The new SOCFL window felts are clearly not going to slip down the window frame as there is no resistance between the glass and the felts, the glass positively floats up and down like the guillotine outside the Bastille! No more strain on the lift motor, no more flexing of the door panel under the load.
They were so easy to fit compared with the stories of fitting the alternative channels, just squeeze together and push in then run a finger along inside the groove to properly locate the edges.

+1 for the SOCTFL item, more expensive but clearly the better choice - Alan

Yep, it was made for the reasons you outlined.
Shame on those still selling incorrect section seals.

I went up this road a few months ago I bought felts a couple of years ago when I was buying spare parts and then went to install them what a pain. Did all the research how to trim how to do this and that and installed them windows were way to tight and after about a week of work bought new seals the CORRECT ones and did the job all over again. The windows now work as they should. I never used and adhesive on the felts.Thank you SOCTFL.
