I get that in my garage with an asbestos roof. Condensation drips on the cars in some weather conditions and leaves a stain like that, I think it is actually limescale as I have had to use weak descaler to shift some of it.
Some form of cutting compound should shift it but in future I would use an indoor cover, it keeps the drips and the cats muddy paw print off!

After a good wash to strip any old polish and give a nice clean surface, maybe try a light cutting compound, T-cut or even a hand glaze which is less abrasive.

    Paint water marks?

Hi, my car has been in my garage most of the last year. I have a dehumidifier to keep moisture at bay. I took car out last week for first time in a few weeks and noticed what look like water marks on the paintwork and they don't polish out. Attached photo is boot lid, wings and doors are not affected though bonnet has some marks too. I've heard of trouble when a car cover is used but mine is uncovered within the garage. Actually I noticed that leaving a wet sponge on the paint for a few minutes left a mark too. Paint is two pack. Any ideas how I can restore the paintwork? Thanks
