    Big help needed, RE: Gearbox.

    20210404_191002.jpg20210404_191019.jpg20210404_191732.jpg Hi All,
I have started to put my Stag back together, I am stuck on something that I know nothing about, thats the Gearbox. In the pics below could you please tell me which manual Gearbox it is? This is a conversion from an auto. Everything is done, well I think so anyway.
What I want to also know is what , where and which parts I need with the bits that are seen in the pictures. There ia also at the rear a free moving bit without a bolt in it.

The clutch fluid reservoir is also not attached, I cannot seem to find any clear cut pictures detailing what work and the where the bits go.
I will really appreciate what ever help or pointers you could furnish me with.
    Thanks,
    Sukh.

you need a slave cylinder. if you don't know the state of the master cylinder I would get a new one. if there is over drive on the end of the box. it doesn't seem like a J type.

      It is an A-type overdrive.

I think I know what to do now.....need a Clutch Pipe - RHD - 153248 from existing master cylinder to new Slave cylinder, will change the rod that goes into slave cylinder with clevis pin as the rod is rusty ( does the rod just push into the slave cylinder? ).

The only thing I cannot understand is why is there a rod and a further rod with bracket as in the picture? Where does the bracket attach to?
        thx.

When you get to the stage of wiring the OD it is imperative it has its Reverse, 1st, 2nd gear inhibitor switch fitted and wired correctly. Laycock ODs cannot be run in reverse AT ALL, they have a one way directional bearing in them and a reverse action shatters them. I had a fellow Stag owner have this happen recently and it cost 1000s of dollars NZ and many hours to put right, Applies to both A and J types.
          Cheers Ian A

I think the bracket will attach to the free nut and bolt in picture number 2.....

Someone put that other rod there. only one rod connects to the slave cylinder. use the middle hole on the lever of the cross shaft

the rod on the bottom seems too long. it just pushes in the slave cylinder.

I seem to remember the slave rod should be around 6" long. What you have is way too long.
                  Throw that other one away.

Been & measured my spare one, it is 6" end to end.
