        I just gave Peter a call last week, as usual very efficient in dispatching.
        The Web site does work but very slow.

          It used to be slow. Now it will not open at all using Apple products. Luckily I do not need anything ATM, and I would email or phone if I did, but it must be costing him business.

            Last time I looked, it worked with internet explorer…. Slowly. That was a couple of weeks ago.
            today there was global internet slowness.
            There are 2 secrets to staying on top :- 1. Don't give everything away.

              I just send Peter an email of what I wanted. It still took time but worked out fine. Now I am waiting for international delivery 🤯

                It's taken long enough to sort that out, no excuse !.
                So I don't bother, so he has lost me as a customer, not that I had that much from him anyway.

                  I gave up with Internet Explorer (and all other Microsoft products) 8 years ago.

                  Checked LDPart this morning and the home page did load up after 1 minute 34 seconds, and that is with 50mbps at my end.

                      A bit harsh, yes it has taken a long time and I’m sure it’s the last thing Peter wanted but without knowing the circumstances, we can’t comment.
                      Peter has been and will remain to be my #1 supplier. His knowledge, experience and aim to sell the highest quality parts is unequalled.
                      Doesnt take much effort to pick up the phone.

                        I'm sure it is the last thing he wanted. But as I said, in this decade, there really is no excuse for this.
                        Plenty of website builders & hosting companies who could sort it for not much cost.

                        He could even host it himself, I did with my website for a few years (info only, with download facility)

                        Even if it was only for viewing with no online checkout facility. At least we would be able to see whether an item is available & in stock.

                          Crumbs Neil have you looked out of the window recently? and this is the thing that you worry about

                          I deal with a number of suppliers who do not have a web based retail front end or have issues with certificates etc. This is never any reflection on the quality of the business. I just pick up that phone and let my fingers do the walking. For me this is perfect, I get to chat to interesting folk, confirm stock is actually available (just because a website says it is doesn't always mean it). Pretend it is 1990 again and move away from the computer for 5 minutes

                          Impatient or intolerant customers are best avoided imho, especially in my business.

                          Imagine how quickly this would have been shut down if another supplier had been mentioned

                            Based on zero knowledge of the facts you criticise one of the best suppliers in the market.

                            If I was in Peter’s shoes, I think I’d be glad you didn’t want to deal with me with an attitude like that. I spoke to him the other day and his loyal customers are calling him and emailing him so he’s busier than ever. I’m sure he’ll miss you.

                              A slick website, shiny brochure, smart new premises or rep in smart suit and tie does not guarantee a good service plus you are paying for all of that. Dealing direct with someone who has knowledge and experience of the service you are seeking is far better than clicking on a website and hoping that what you have clicked on is what you want. And how many times have you found it impossible to contact a company because they are totally web based and only respond to emails? - a long winded way to resolve an issue.

                              I have only dealt with Peter a couple of times but he was very helpful over the phone and on an occasion when I had a newish fuel pump fail, he sent out a replacement without quibble and before I returned the faulty one. Not many of your slick, modern companies would do that. Sometimes it is worth the wait to get what you want rather than expecting instant results.
