I assume you'll be doing low mileage in your Stag ? If so, from a wear perspective Maxxis should be ok but can't confirm either way on suitability on the Stag.
This is based on what I was told by my local tyre specialist that is a Maxxis recommended stockist which I think are viewed as a medium budget tyre.
I asked about switching to them as opposed to the dearer named brand tyre I'd be replacing (Pirelli or Goodyear ) but as I was covering over 15,000 a year in my BMW daily drive they said it would be false economy to go for the cheaper Maxxis as they would wear quicker under that use.
1857014 is too small on the OD and rolling radius. 1957014 is good for those cars that came on 175hr14 and acceptable for those that came on 185hr14. Khumo do a very good 1957014 in H rating so no risks with smart lawyers in the worst case accident scenario.

185/70 is an OEM size which is why I chose it; speedo is pretty much bang on as well so how can it be too small?
Not about to argue but the tyre sizes fitted OE were 185HR14 up to 1976 and 175HR14 after that. Almost entirely either Michelin or Avon. May be wrong but I have never known a Stag fitted with 1857014 as OE. If your speedo is accurate then no problem.
There’s nothing wrong with the maxxis tires I know I’ve had them in the past fitted to my cars as a budget tire. But something like the stag where are you not gonna use it that much you might be better off paying that little bit more. I’ve used camskill a few times to buy tires and got them fitted by the local Kwik Fit, other tire shops are available. But ones I have got fitted to my stag at the moment are Uniroyal rain sport 5, now these are what a lot of track day boys use as they are phenomenal for grip especially in the wet. Looking at the camskill prices there only a couple of pound more than the Maxxis ones, they are well worth that little bit extra. Plus they have a high speed rating so are actually better value than the Maxus ones.
