Differential Rebuild Recommendations please

This year I'm planning to get my differential overhauled and wondered if there are any specialists in the South of England please. I'd also be interested in hearing peoples opinions and advice on changing to the 3:45 ratio. The car at this time is fitted with the BW35 auto box. Thanks.

I think you will find the 3.45 ratio is a great improvement with that auto box. I did. Goodness knows why Triumph didn't fit it in the first place.

Although not in the South, I (like many others here) got mine from TD Fitchett. They send it UPS next day and it only cost me £11 via parcel2go to send my knackered exchange one back to them from Ashtead, which is right beside Leatherhead.

An update after my call. They have the 3:45 rebuilt unit in stock at a cost of £550 +vat with a £300 surcharge against me returning my old unit, very reasonable all things considered.

In preparing to do this job I've read the ROM and it seems to be a straightforward job of removing the Hypoid, am I right to assume the propshaft and nose extension piece stay in situ and the Hypoid pulls off the splined shaft?
I'm also planning to fit the 3:45 ratio unit as many people have recommended but in doing this is there anything extra I need to consider before doing the job and are there any 'gotchas' anyone can advise upon?

Yes, did it a few weeks ago, worst part is removing the exhaust pipe that runs underneath!
If you wanted to, the extension bearing can be replaced with it still in-situ but keep in mind that the advise is to use a good quality bearing for that..

Put mine back in yesterday. Definitely helps to have another pair of hands to keep it steady as it is jacked up although with gravity helping it should be ok on the way down solo.
