Woody, car looks worth a visit.
try to take an experienced member.
probably be worth doing a compression test & cooling system pressure test. If they are willing....no info about any engine work.

It does look good, but my wife has slightly put a spanner in the works by saying she prefers the yellow one that is for sale on the SOC website. It's being advertised by a SOC regional co-ordinator for its elderly owner. It is up near Glasgow but flights from Bristol are only £20 quid, so not much different to driving to Oxford!.

The coordinator, Willie Clark, has sent me some more details and a link to lots of photos, there is a bit of rust on the underside that is a bit worrying, the paintwork could be better, but overall looks pretty good. I'm hoping as Willie is SOC I can rely on his words and advice. But, a bit like the one up in Oxford, it is priced above what we'd originally planned to spend. I was hoping to spend around 10 grand ish, which would have left me a couple thousand for any work that needed doing in the near term, but both these cars blow that budget!

Tough to know what to do!

If it was me, I'd look at both, then decide - there's nothing worse than hindsight & regret. If you do go yellow, at least you can get your wife to share the blame if stuff needs doing!

Woody I’m not a million miles from Abingdon and could probably help. How do I get hold of you?

            Hi Goldstar,

As not supposed to put email addresses on here, let's do a cryptic puzzle! First bit is the same as user name here, then the "at" bit. The provider is the opposite of cold post and ends with the British version of dot com. Make any sense??
