    Warning cluster loose wire

I've had problem with my ignition light staying on and not activating the alternator. After accessing the dash and rear or cluster, I found issue with a loose wire connection seated into the socket that then accepts the pins from the cluster gauge.
Is there a way to push the wire connections out of the socket so I can resecure? I have tried a removal tool that has several different pins and have not been successful in finding one that works. I recently removed the dash and harnesses to re-veneer dash and hope not to have to do so again for one wire connection.
should I just insert some wire from the rear to take up tte movement and leave it at that?
    Thanks, Matt

Hi Matt. I'm getting a stag on the road. only when i hooked up the wires to the alternator did the red ignition light come on. I'm assuming the light goes out when the alternator starts charging. I recall the light stays on when there is a problem with the alternator not charging.

being sockets they need a thin blade or tube slid over the outside of the terminal to remove them, this will push the tag in for removal
