    I think (memory) I used a rotary wire for the easy bits and Dremel wire brush for corners and the cap thread and dusted it down with compressed air. Hope this is a help.

    Hi Richard, I removed mine, cleaned it inside and out, primed it and top coated with Chrome paint. Reinstalled with a new piece of connecting hose and clips. I also refurbished the clamp with a coat of black paint.
