    House to and from radiator

Do people trim hoses to and from the radiator? I'm noticing the ones I have bought seem that way. For instance, the top one to thermostat cover wont fit unless I cut. I'd expect it to have a nice 90 bend from the cover to clear the cylinder head, but it sure doesn't Mk1 with early manifold. Both bottom radiator hoses seem too long too for the metal pipe to be clamped to the timing cover. Bought from reputed supplier.

from memory I took about 2" off one of the bottom hoses, this was to get it clear of the fan, thats now no longer there!

The bottom hose does need careful fettling to get it to stay clear of the alternator fan. And that means getting the hoses at each end of the metal transition piece into "just the right place and length".

Top hose is nowhere near as critical - just cut to suit.
Header tanks - you can't beat a bit of bling.

Thx. It's normal then as I had to mess with the hoses on Stag no.1 I cut it slightly too short and it is leaking slightly. . May this weekend I'll mix and match to get them both right.

I think my top hose is a bit too short,
Strangely It fit the Mk1 radiator beautufully but not so happy with it on the Mk2 radiator.
