    Some people are so sad!

I stopped posting on this Forum some time ago because of the attitude and posts of certain members & former members.
Having had a peek at the new Forum that has just been started, the sad people who ruined this Forum are now posting unbelievable "libellous" and inaccurate comments on that also, and I cannot see it lasting very long before it implodes.

Sorry to say I won't be renewing my SOC membership when it is next due, - on the new Forum I am being referred to an "Old, Stubborn, Stupid man", thank god I am not on the same intelligence (or non-intlligence) level as they are. What is wrong with such people? Life is too short and for living, when will some people realise this instead of spending their days "slagging" off other fellow Stag owners?

Definately my final post (but I have to say I have met and had a nice chat & drink with quite a few Stag owners who have been out here in Tenerife on holiday, and their numbers far outweigh the other few referred to above).

Farewell again from an "Old, Stubborn, and Stupid Stag owner"

PS. My Stag is not the "Barn Find" some others are saying it will become, I will be driving it again shortly, the delay in putting it back on the road being due to having to wait a long time for parts to be shipped out from the U.K. during the lockdown. And by the way Tenerife according to statistics is the safest place to be (if you can get here) during the present situation.

    Terry,

So sorry to read this, like all clubs nice members are always needed to outnumber the few. I really hope you get to continue enjoying your Stag, after all that is the point of it all.

    Happy motoring,

    Alan

Wishing you all the best Terry, hope it does not spoil the enjoyment of your Stag. By me you will be sadly missed on here.
      Regards and respect. Chris.

Deleted myself from the other forum, not for me.

Was a bit worried when I read that your Stag seemed to be more or less abandoned and feared the worse. Glad to know you're fine Terry and wish you the best for getting the Stag back on the road as I know it means a lot to you.

Hope your car is fixed soon Terry.

Ignore the nonsense on the other forum. I am surprised anyone gives it the time of day, such is the low level of discussion there from a brief read through. I suspect that soon there will only be one or two contributors left there, who can vent their bile and trot out disinformation to their heart's content.

Even more surprised that a mod from here seems to think it is OK to encourage people to post such drivel.

Take care now, looks like you won't be seeing too many holidaying Brits for a while yet. Other than those who already live there, and I guess there is at least one of those you might prefer to avoid.

Agree entirely Wilf, vicious bile and living in the past, still pointing fingers and digging up very old stuff which achieves very little if anything at all and as you said one contributor who shows a different side.

Keep enjoying the Stag when its back on the road.

            Nigel

Yes, I was rather surprised too. Whilst there were "differences" of various kinds which led to some members leaving the SOC, I'd always considered them as being technically well versed and at the top of their game, and was surprised to see so much hate and pent-up vitriol waiting to be poured out wih a generous portion of profanity. I'm afraid I wouldn't have been much good at my old job if I'd harboured so much hate over time, but they seem to be happy there now so I live and learn - each to his own. Let's just leave them be.

So nice to hear from you again Terry, but so sad that you are leaving us. Do think again as I’m sure you are among friends here and we miss your tales of island life!

I don’t contribute a lot to the forum as I am not a highly skilled mechanic and do not have the confidence to put forward advice; I prefer to let those who have greater knowledge than me help out and learn from their valued input. But I have been moved to speak on this subject as it saddens me to see how we, the forum, are being spoken of elsewhere.

As has been said the new forum is being run by the old illuminate (I think that is how they were once referred to by someone on here) who once thought they owned this forum. It was them that would not accept a different method of repair, a different product or point of view when put forward by someone else. They think we are old and set in our ways here - talk about the kettle calling the pot black. They say the committee is full of old people set in their ways yet they never volunteered to take on these rolls and show us how it should be done! (Though I guess I am as guilty of this for not volunteering my services but I am not complaining).

In the last couple of years there have been many new contributors coming to the forum which has been a good thing, a breath of fresh air. And although they may be asking some of the old questions asked and answered many times in the past, it is good to be reminded of these things and nice to know that there are novices building up their knowledge of the Stag to keep it going into the future.

Times change for all walks of life and the forum is no exception, and it is good job too otherwise it would stagnate (excuse the pun). But it is nice to have some of the old stalwarts here to help out the newcomers and to provide that broad spectrum of knowledge, not just on the Stag but on life as well. And yes from time to time it can get a little heated, but again that is life and we cannot all agree all the time.

So again Terry, have another think about your decision because this forum is better for your contributions.

                Dave.

                  Hi Terry,
I too enjoy your posts on the Forum and hope you will reconsider your decision to leave.
I have holidayed in Tenerife many, many times so seeing and hearing about your adventures with the Stag brightens may day.

Why leave Terry and let the idiots win.....?

We need more people like you to keep it all going, think again my friend and keep giving us all the news and entertainment you have over all the years!

I didn’t know that there was another forum .

I did like to know about Terry’s Stag in Tenerife although perhaps some did not, Terry don’t leave!

Over the years this member as contributed a lot to the forum in all ways, in the short time i have been on here he as help't where he could, posted lots of interesting things stag related and otherwise shows and world travel both on here and as content to the magazine, not everyone's cup of tea granted but you don't have to look if its not for you.

That said i and it would appear others have enjoyed most of what he as posted and will miss his future input, lets not loose any more good people from this forum.

I am a member of this and a number of others but have found this to be the best IMHO for me, did try the other new forum but deleted myself as it was not for me.

Terry you are it would appear to me by the majority of decent folk on here wanted but its up to you.

                        All the best Chris.

The only thing that has been said on the other forum about Terrys car, was a lot of his problems started when he changed his cabburettor, and the garages he took it to, didnt understand old cars not used to imperial bolts

                            Terry,

I was beginning to wonder how you were coping with both your Stag and the current situation. Glad to hear you are OK health wise and haven't given up on your Stag. Keep the faith and there are many here who will do their best to help you out.

I too have signed up for that Brave New World Forum, but have been so disappointed at the antics of some whom I considered rational and wise, that I have yet to contribute - and I'm not the only one. This will continue until either it settles down, or implodes. IMO, this is still the only worthwhile Stag Forum, whether or not you agree with the SOC hierarchy. The Stag section of the CT Forum is deader than a dodo, and FB is a laugh (although I do respond to the odd post or two there if I'm in the mood).
