Speedo Cable Fitment to back of Speedo

I am in the process of changing all the dash wood and have already got all the dials out with the exception of the Speedo. I was expecting a simple screw off, but found instead a white plastic clip. This is obviously a modern fitment, but does anyone know how to release it?
    Help!

I don't know if this will work, but here is a link to a photo of the fitment concerned.

Lift the end of the small tag in the square hole off the boss on the back of the speedo with a small screwdriver, and pull the cable free.

Whilst on this theme what is the best way to stop the needle on the speedo juddering. I have been using grease on the shaft.

Lubricate the cable is often the solution, but ask what with and you'll start another argument

I lubricated the cable with a little silicone grease but it hasn't worked . It must be the speedo head?

                      Mike.
Having any tight corners in the cable can cause the needle to wave about at certain speeds. Try getting it to run from the gearbox to the speedo with the gentlest curves possible. That might help.

may be the speedo head itself
