Why is the manual gearbox tilted slightly to the right

While installing the gearbox this weekend, I noticed the gearbox is very slightly tilted to the right. Terry mentioning something, ( the rear transmission mount is not symmetrical) but it didn't sink in.
    Anyone know why?

Got the answer from another forum. This guy worked at the factory.

    to me, Triumphs

The in line six engine was tilted by six degrees on the Triumph 2000 and 2500 to achieve a low bonnet line. As the Stag was originally planned to have two engines - the 2500 six and the V8, the position of the engine mounts was clearly never changed.

Then why aren't the auto gearboxes tilted as well, as they also went in the 2000 / 2500 saloons?
