    Clutch line routing

Just found out that I was sent a RHD clutch line a long while ago that was ordered and labeled as a LHD. I tried to get a bit of goodwill from Rimmer but was told they dont.
$4000 spent there over the years.. wow..

Anyway, I will probably do a hardline so looking for the routing on LHD cars, I went to my standby.. Drew but he failed me, must be the only thing he didn't post

Anyone got pictures?? I presume it goes under

OK so I found out over the top then, attached to the rear engine plate

Hmm.. it needs to flex.. was it ever hardline? or always that plastic stuff

I am looking into exactly the same now. Where did you find the information about routing it over the adapter plate? I can not remember how mine was routed, but I am sure it was hardline.

Plastic line - sort of red tinge on the ones I've seen. Clutch master is fixed to body, clutch slave is fixed to engine/gearbox which are rubber mounted to body so I can't imagine a fixed pipe as being a good idea.

I bought an Aeroquip type line but didn't like the way it fitted - re-fitted my plastic one - no problems up to now!

Sujit texted me, he said it goes over the top and is clipped to the gearbox/ engine bolts.
I have the rhd one and called my local hydraulic place.. $50 to replace the plastic with a longer piece.. ouch! I’m going to get the proper one.

But did he describe how it is routed before going over the adapter plate? Is it clipped to the firewall with the + to the starter?

It seemed to have 2 clips that go to the gearbox securing bolts.. I would imagine it’s not secured tight on that side to allow it to flex a bit.

              Sujit??

                .

My Stag no. 2 didn't come with an engine or manual gearbox. I got the info. from other US forum members. It is not attached to the firewall. It is attached to the engine plate. Initially I thought it was attached to the firewall and follows the same path as the thick starter wire. I have a Mk1 Stag. The clips are attached to the plastic pipe and sit at about 10 and 2 on a clock face.
