    fuse circuit mystery

This is starting to do my head in. I've lost the horn/hazards/interior lighting circuit which according to my diagram, is fed by a live Brown wire. Nowhere in my fuse panel is a corresponding fuse?? This is the diagram I'm using, and it shows the purple circuit fed through a fuse by the hot Brown from the alternator. Where would I find this fuse? Any help appreciated. Cheers.

Assume you are looking at the correct wiring diagram for your car, looks like a Mk 2 RHD without air conditioning. If the supply to the fuse, No. 1, battery control, in fuse box is live but no supply to the other side, and the fuse is healthy, then I would check the rivets that hold the fuse clips in place. These have been known to become loose and interrupt the supply. Hope this is of help.

Thanks guys. I'll check the Battery Control circuit. That's not real intuitive is it ;-)

Understanding lucas wire colour codes might have helped here Brown = connected direct to battery might have pointed me to Battery control fuse

What would have really really helped you though, would have been OE wiring diagram from the ROM, it has the fuse box terminal numbers inside the little circles - you will note that these clearly match up with the fuse box cover

Anyone fancy having a go at updating the colour wiring diagram with this information?

Or is it another "upgrade" that has flaws

Great info, thanks guys. Believe it or not, I have a Repair Operations Manual here, and I've just checked the diagram. What do you know, it DOES have those numbers in the circles! Trouble is they're so small my old eyes couldn't make them out
What is this ROM of which you speak? (he says paraphrasing Graham Chapman's King Arthur). Is it an electronic version of the Manual I have?
That colour diagram is also a great resource. Is that part of the ROM suite?
                cheers

Mine is the old paper version, both Haynes and official Triumph

When I cannot see the details, and I frequently cannot, I use the camera on my phone and zoom in

There used to be various computer PDF manuals available, google search will find them. As far as I am aware they are only ever copies of the official printed versions and may be subject to copyright

That arises from the confusion between a CD-ROM and the rather seedy-ROM which we are parked with....

Thanks for that. I have rewired my TR6, and added a few circuits (4 fuses? Really?), so I’m pretty familiar with the colour coding. The Stag is similar in some ways, but also a good deal more sophisticated. Power windows etc.
                              great forum.
                              cheers.
