I have just got hold of a windscreen surround top chrome trim.
my plan (when I have finished installing our new kitchen) is to make a fibreglass top front hood rail, to allow me to make a half roof, cant get hold of a front rail off a soft top, and I wont pay in excess of £200 for a clapped out full frame just for the front rail.
you may beat me to it, good luck, post lots of pictures if you have a go.
Phil
How about using a full hardtop, cut across at the B pillar and behind the front latches and create/make up a removable soft section over the the driver/passenger area to create a Stag Surrey Top. I know it's not that simple. Unfortunately spare hardtops are very rare in NZ.
