How to clean head lining

My hard top head lining is pretty dirty. I suspect a previous owner was a heavy smoker. Can I clean it without risking the material falling apart? Is there a specialised product available? Thanks John

I've recently invested in a hand held steamer for the sole purpose of cleaning the hard top lining and it is on my list of weekend tasks whilst we endure the lockdown!
