I just had some chroming done by Castle Chrome. Great job not cheap. I sent for quotes from the platers listed below. You won't get a fixed price until they see the items only an estimate. Bumper costs are horrific. I ended up buying new stainless steel as it was cheaper. New chrome on quarters may make the rest look shabby.
Just to jump in here, I know you said that costs vary depending on condition but are you able to give me a clue as to what I might I expect for a full set of bumpers? I was considering rechroming but it sounds as though new stainless may be the way to go.

It all depends on whether you want originality; stainless will likely work out much cheaper. A lot of the chroming cost is in the preparation, particularly if any repairs are needed, so you will need to judge what the current state of your bumpers are.
Harringtons have them on offer today for £845 including delivery.

I'm guessing that for items 2 and 3 you mean the horseshoe end trims with the upper and lower trims that connect?
If so as a rough estimate subject to seeing the parts you would be looking around £1,500+vat for the bumpers and overriders and £340+vat for the each of the front and rear set of trims"

"Hi John,
Quotation
Front bumper £440.00
Rear bumper £440.00
Horse shoe £35.00
Rear boot trim £35.00
Bonnet trim £35.00
My front bumper was done by S&T at Yate, Nr Bristol a couple of years ago. Excellent job. No idea on the price as it was an insurance job - Hermes delivery lorry reversed into me!

Thank you everyone, that's very helpful. I don't think I'm too worried about originality so, based on even the less expensive prices above, it looks as though stainless will be the way to go.
