For anyone thinking of changing wheels or tyres to a different size

This is the most comprehensive website which shows you exactly what changing your wheel type/size and the tyres to fit will do to your car and what pressures to use too.

There are others but not as good as this.

Mike do you know what the correct offset is?
I know you have had a range of wheel and tyre combinations.

        Hi Phil,

I’ve an absolute library on the subject now!

A normal Stag alloy has an offset of 28 and I’d normally use 195/70 as a tyre profile to give a template for others.

Quite interestingly the guys at JBW wheels suggest an offset of +8 with 15x6 wheels which if fitted with 205/60 x15 tyres come incredibly close to the overall set up I have with 205/55 on my 16” wheels with a +6 offset.

Its good to play around to see what works best within the confines of an unaltered arch.

        Cheers
        Mike
