I understand the bit about driving to a packed tourist attraction, but isn't being in a people-packed location covered by a different rule? Puzzled why siting alone or two up in a car is banned.Dave

seems Dave has got something ... Penzance Police

Essential journey ? Driving to exercise at another location is NOT an essential journey! Yesterday we stopped and checked over 150 vehicles in the Penzance, Hayle and St Ives area. Drivers were asked if their journey was essential. We will continue to carry out these checks because, like you, we want to keep Cornwall safe.

Depends how you read the advice I reckon, and I bet each of our 43 forces will have a different view. The GOV.uk advice page says "Requiring people to stay at home, except for very limited purposes" one of those limited purposes is to exercise. I agree going to the beach is nonsense but going to a wide open space 10 minutes drive away falls into one of the limited purposes I reckon. Safer than walking the streets nearby and better for one's mental health.Anyway us discussing it is pretty futile tbh. Do what is safe and right.Paul - 3 projects, 1 breaker - garage built and housing 2 white Stags. One runs, one doesn't

Fortunately out here it's specifically allowed to drive out. Today when I was out I spotted an old friend I haven't seen for ages and took him back home with me..

Returning from our daily exercise saw a neighbour jealously guarding and carrying a packet of 9 loo rolls. on enquiry as to the source, we were advised that Sainsbury had a stock. So we jumped into the car and promptly bought a pack. The first for just over a month. What a relief if you pardon the pun

If some ars****e and his wife and entourage can travel from London to Aberdeenshire to self isolate, and then blag a test from the local NHS when they won't test their own frontline staff then I reckon we should be allowed to do what we wish.
