      Robin. I think you may have answered your own question. Surely there isn't any electrolyte in this instance?

        Indeed, oil is an insulator, rather than an electrolyte. I have used "copper eaze" (copper grease) on many a fastening into aluminium without problems.
        Header tanks - you can't beat a bit of bling.
