You're correct Dave, the front just needs pulling down. The striker plate is fully adjusted so it looks like the holes need to be opened up to allow more movement.

            Jeff

the plate at the back off the striker plate is the bit that moves around,as you said theres know more adjustment your have the elongate the holes in the striker plate to give more adjustment

                Argh..... This boot seal thing.

First I bought one from Paddock (not having read this thread) Well it raised the boot all round but worse.. see what it did to my hinges

                IMG_1560.JPG

OK, so then I saw this post and thought aha... I need one from LD... It arrived and looked... well almost identical to the paddock one, but never mind I fitted it... Well its was just the same fit and problem as the paddock one.

I shaved off all of the rubber tubing back almost to the metal gripper and although its OK at the back its still pround at the hinges area...

So , so far I have paid £50 for seals that do not fit... feeling not so happy as I still now need to go and buy another that does work....

I don't think I can do much with the bent hinge pins as they are welded in place... just hope they don't fall off

I will let you know what does work when I find one.....

My hinge rollers are exactly the same.
They have been like itsince 2017 when I got the car so will probably be ok
My boot lid shut perfectly with no seal
I have 3 seals so I might cut some of the round bit off the top one of them and see if that works
I will let you know how it goes

I can confirm that the boot lid seal I bought years ago from SOC Spares, is a perfect fit, and I suspect LD Parts and Paddock sell the same one. In which case there may be a problem with the boot lid, or the height of the metal strip to which the seal fitted.

The boot hinge rollers bend because they have not been oiled so they stick and rust, the rollers are there to hold the boot lid open and not fall on your head when getting bits out of the boot
