Hello All,
A quick intro.
I sold my '69 Mini Cooper S, a few months ago as my wife and 2 kids just didn't like it, although I loved it. In my view a good alternative for the family is a nice comfortable 4 seat classic, so I'm aquiring a Triumph Stag.
I am buying a Stag that spend years in a private car museum in Wales. It hadn't turned a wheel in decades and was fitted with a straight six engine, but being in a dry museum, is free from any serious corrosion. It's a 1972 MK1.
The specialist stag garage have stripped it completely and it's just been resprayed in the original Saphire Blue, and it's being rebuilt with partly original and some replacement parts. The engine going In is a rebuilt Triumph V8. The refurbished interior is Shadow Blue. The hood, wheels, brightwork etc will be new.
I'm really looking forward to taking delivery in a couple of months or so, and I'm happy to have a car that was once a true museum piece back out on the road.
I''m joining the SOC, and hope to take the car to some events and post here from time to time.
Cheers!
