    tyre choice

I've done I bit of research on tyres and without wishing to spend £600+ for 4 new ones, has anybody bought some recently that they can recommend?

Uniroyal 195/70 x14 https://camskill.co.uk/m4b0s389p1272..._Noise%3A_71dB had no problem with these , and Speedo within 2-3 mph at 60mph

Same here but if you don’t take it out in the rain and only drive at 50mph max, anything will do.

I have a set of hankook 195/80 14 on mine cost was about 60 a tyre, correct size for an early car but as my speedo reads about 4% slow think I should have 70 profile as it's a 76 year.

Correct size for most of the production was 185/80HR14. 175/80HR14 for final year. Your 195/80 14 tyres will account for much of the speedo error.

I have a set of Michelin 195/70 r14's on mine and the speedo is accurate with my sat nav. the rolling radius is the same as the original 185/80 r14's.
Bought them on line from Tyreleader.co.uk, which was the best price I could find, they were shipped from Germany and delivered by DPD and guess where they were made......Great Britain !

                  As David above.

Uniroyal Rain Expert 3 , recommended to me by other Stag owners. Speedo accurate, quiet, good grip £50 or thereabouts per corner.

I use Uniroyal Rain Expert 175/80 x 14 because they work well, they have the correct speed rating, the speedo is correct and they are about £60 each. Superb in the wet, I do about 10,000 miles a year in all weathers, six inches of snow a couple of years ago. Wider tyres may be the choice of many, but I disagree.
