    Rock 'n' Roll Cars

Don't know if you get it in the U.K., but there is currently a program with the above title showing on "Together" TV, and a Stag was featured in it near the beginning, but which was written off by the driver who is one of the 2 narrators on the program, but haven't yet worked out which famous rock artist he is "Paul" somebody as I missed the beginning.
Features some nice Classic Cars as well as some expensive exotica..

PS. Apparently it is a series featuring famous rock stars and their cars, but still don't know who the 1st 2 celebreties where, as didn't say at the end of the program (unless I missed it), but the chap who wrote off the Stag has had a lot of Classic Cars, and likes his Audi A8 which he has had for some time now, but obviously owns quite a lot of Classic Cars.

Next week apparently features Tony Hadley, and the girl lead singer from T'Pau.

Yes we do get this channel via our Sky box. I recorded last night's episode which was no3 so I've missed the first two but I'm sure they'll come back round again at some point( they usually do!). Thanks for the heads up.

The lead singer of T'Pau is Carol Decker. She used to own a pub near us that we frequented and her husband was the chef. Saw her a few times in there, always friendly, then they upped sticks and left on a Christmas morning a few years ago. Still live around Henley as we see her often. Great food too, shame, but they did get expensive.

Tony Hadley lives near Aylesbury, saw him Saturday night at Rock for Essex concert, still great voice.
I only do what the voices in my wife’s head tell me to do!

I honestly don't know, but could be, but he was the one who said he had a Triumph 2.5 PI, and then a Stag which he ran into a stopped car at some traffic lights and smashed all the front end in (presumedly writing the car off). Other cars he mentioned that he had where a Cortina 1600E, then a Cortina 2000 GXL, and another car he said he wrote off was a borrowed Nissan GTR on some bend when he was driving it very fast (he seemed to be hinting he currently had quite a collection of cars from a Ferrari to a Bond Bug!).

Didn't recognise the other rock star featured either, who again owned quite a wide range of cars from a Sinclair C5 to a Rolls Royce.
John Lennon's "Pschyadelic" Rolls Royce was also shown during the program.

Will look out for the program again next week, it was broadcast on a Monday night here around 8pm on the Together Channel.

The blurb on this site mentions a Paul Hardcastle who was a one hit wonder with "19"

              Evening all,
Yes Paul Hardcastle had a "One Hit Wonder" with 19. This refers to the average age of the American GI during the Vietnam war.
John Ottway formed a double act with "Wild" Willie Barratt. They were kind of "out there", and John is still touring.
Pity about the Stag being smashed up, but at least the Bentley fared better.
Someone mentioned Paul Young. He & his band Los Pacominos are touring the UK, and I'll be seeing them in a month.
If you get a chance, go and see them, they do Southern California/Texmex/country/rock'n roll, and are very good.

I'm just part way through watching the episode with Tony Hadley and Carol Decker. The programme itself isn't bad but I do find the constant flipping between the "talking heads" annoying and bitty. Why not interview one person at a time?

Yeah. Watched that one last night and thought the same.

I agree with those who didn't like the constant flipping back and forth between the interviewees - my attention span is actually longer than a few seconds! VERY poor editing/production.
I did note Tony Hadley's comments about just a moment's inattention can cause accidents. Very, very true...…

                      Neil.
Unfortunately it's a very common thing in TV these days. Programmes such as Watchdog and those police/rescue/crimewatch type shows feel that any topic has to be broken up into small chunks so we get the .."coming up later we'll see what happens next". For me it doesn't make good viewing and neither does the constant re-caps after every advert break

I haven't seen that sketch before but sadly it's so true to life and a reflection of the quality of TV shows.
