    Coil Suppressor & Bodywork Repairs

Does anyone know where I might get a "coil interference suppressor" for my Stag, as the original one has given up the ghost?.
Tried Halfords and tried Paddocks but without success.
In Chester till Wednesday, then back in Chester on the 14th of August, before flying back to Tenerife on the 18th.
I am getting some interference on my dashcam which I think is because of the lack of such a suppressor.

Whilst I am away the bodywork man I use in Tenerife is going to pick my car up from home and do some necessary repairs & painting to it now that it is running again. When finished he will put it back in our Car Park ready for me to use when I get home. Didn't want any money up front as he knows I will pay him when I get back, and he never charges me a lot.

Picked up a new dashcam whilst in Chester that I had ordered from Amazon and sent to my son's house, the old Mobius dashcam has now started playing up, and the new one has more features, but it is not a Mobius model this time, and will try it out on the next Test run I do on the Stag.

Fly from Manchester to Southampton tomorrow to board the cruise ship for our trip round the Baltic. Another plus point for the Forum is that an overseas member on here has PM'd me to say give him a call for a possible meet up when we dock near Lubec on the return sail.

    Rimmers list them

You could also look on eBay. Don't be tempted by any N.O.S (New Old Stock) suppressors because they are basically capacitors and they deteriorate with time, often more so if not used.

I would say that if the dashcam is getting interference then it is more likely to be down to a poor quality design of power supply in the dashcam, the suppressor may well help but modern devices should be immune - especially as most run off of a regulated 5V "USB" type supply, sadly a lot of cheaper "unbranded" designs are done on the cheap - not that I am saying that yours is a cheap one Terry The other possibility is "radiated" interference from the ignition circuit (distributor cap, spark plug leads), but usually this also shows up as a misfire at some point.

Glad you are still gallivanting around the world and I hope your Stag is ready and waiting on your return - you have the patience of a saint!

Thanks Roger, have ordered it from the Brothers, surprised Paddocks hadn't got one as I could have picked it up whilst in Chester.
Bodywork man just rang me to say he now has my Stag but wanted to know the full paint code number (not just code 19 white), told him I think I still have the tin with the no. on that he used last time, and to look in the "bottom" boot for it near the spare wheel.

We wll be celebrating the wife's birthday whilst away on our cruise, and we sail from Southampon tomorrow, first port of call being Copemhagen on our way round the Baltic, all ports of call being places we have never been to before so looking forward to it, and especialy as it is on our favourite cruise ship the "Braemar"..

And when the cruise is over it's back to Chester for a few days then home to Tenerife with a newly pampered Triumph Stag waiting for me just asking to be taken out on a run.

Don't know what I am looking forward to most - the cruise or driving the Stag again.

Arrived back home in Tenerife yesterday evening.
Stag looking good again at first glance after the bodywork repairs undertaken whilst away, but need to wash the car as it's covered in dust.

The coil suppressor I ordered has arrived so need to fit that, and try out a new dashcam I have also purchased.
First though will check oil level and underneath car to see if it has dropped any oil whilst I have been away.

Apart from when the bodywork man took it and brought it back, it's been stood for some time so hopefully it will start O.K. when I try tomorrow.
Still unpacking and checking emails & post etc. today, and catching up on things.

Excellent Baltic Cruise which I would recommend, especially on a small ship like the Braemar which can berth itself close to town & City centres which bigger Liners can't.
For example in St.Petersburg we were berthed within touching distance of I think it was S.Basils Cathedral (or if not St.Basils it was a very impressive gold roof adorned Cathedral right opposite our Cabin (or should I say Stateroom))..

It appears to have been very hot in Tenerife whilst we were away (into the 40s), and it's definitely hot today, which makes a change from Mancheter when at the Airport there was a very heavy rainfall, and our suitcases and clothes inside them were wet through and marked when we unpacked the cases at Southampon when we first boarded the ship.
We are going to make a claim against FlyBe for drying & cleaning before we could wear them on board.
