That's only 45 amp though. Plus I have my alternator on a different bracket that's mounted high up - I believe the mounting holes match the original alternator.
I found a high amp version here:

    https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/283278004899?ul_noapp=true

Looks like a healthy jump in output and 99% approval rating.

I don't suppose anyone here will have tried one of these? I suspect not.

    A couple of questions....

    1) Whats a 126 alternator?
    2) I googled 'wards alternator' and don't get any hits - any more clues, please ?

Thanks for the info so far - it looks like there may be such an alternator - i just need that extra bit of info...

Wards do a high output alternator, one of which I have fitted to my Stag to match my 80amp Battery. Check their Website.

the later 126 range of alternators are a straight fit and are 70amp output. I had the option of £70 new or £60 recon

    started a topic Alternative alternator

    Alternative alternator

I'd like to install a powerful alternator due to some very hungry electrics in my Stag.

Is anyone aware of a high amp alternator that can substitute the Stag's original one? For instance an alternator from a diesel car that fits to stag brackets perfectly?

    Thanks
Working...
