Steering binds when accelerating through a turn

    Hi Guys,

Just wanted to check if anyone has experienced and solved a problem where the steering binds when you accelerate through a turn.
Some background, I had to take out the steering shaft and move the steering rack to take the right side exhaust manifold off to fix a welsh plug issue. Fitted it all back and then noted the binding issue. Could not see anything obvious and also had it wheel aligned, but was not out much.
So I was wondering if its the Steering Shaft 151032 or maybe a rack/pump issue.

    Appreciate any tips or suggestions.

    Thanks

I also get a binding of the steering sometimes, it's since I fitted a recon rack. Feels like seals are grabbing a shaft until a bit more force is applied. It only seems to do it when warmed up and only now and again.

Is the binding only through left hand bends or does it do it on both left and right ?

At what stage does the binding begin ?

if the bend is gradual does it occur ?

        Hi Guys,

I found the issue. Actual David Clark, from Dave Clark Automotive told me.
The steering rack lower-shaft was fouling on the exhaust manifold, when I accelerated.
This was due to the spacer plates being on-top of the of the sub-member mounting plates and probably the older engine mounts.
Not sure what these plates do I swapped them to under the bracket and all good.

        Thanks David!

        Regards,
        Joe
