At last took the cover off, removed the battery monitor / charger, reconnected the battery and opened the garage door. Then put the hood up, got in and turned the ignition on. Waited till the fuel pump stopped clicking. Turned the ignition. The engine turned but failed to fire. A bit of choke and she fired up on the button. Joy.
Then out on the road to my specialist Stag man in Poole. The car needs a new steering rack, refurbished Strombergs and the oil leak between gearbox and engine fixed. It will also be serviced with new coolant and oil and a thorough check over for road worthiness.
Can’t wait to get the car back now the sun has shown itself.

Finally got round to fitting BCC calipers that I'd bought a couple of years ago and fitting LED headlights from Classic Dynamo and Regulator Conversions. Been out for a run (top up and self-isolating). Braking was little improved at first but as the pads bedded down am feeling a significant improvement. Will be out later tonight to test the new lights

I normally have an aversion to grocery shopping, but with all the limits I got quite excited about visiting Tescos today.

Taking 'Mellow Yellow' out helped too!!

Looks stunning. Can’t wait to get mine back from the specialist and take that 1/2 mile to our local Sainsbury. However I fear i may not be allowed to fetch it when ready as it’s not really an essential journey.

I'm in a similar position except that I've actually sold my Stag and taken a hefty deposit but don't think I'd be allowed to drive it over to the buyer, especially as North Yorkshire police are stopping motorists to quiz them about why they are on the road

Cycled to the mother in laws, the other side of Newport Pagnell to check on My Stag that's in her garage
Amazingly the battery had enough charge to start the engine
Run it for a few minutes
              Everything seemed ok
missing taking it out for a drive

She looks beautiful. I've always liked that colour on a Stag.

To be honest, I don't think it's any stricter than UK - it's slightly different from state-to-state. It was, however, implemented very quickly (overnight in fact) and was a complete blanket (restaurants, schools, DIY stores, garden centres etc.). UK seemed to dither for days/weeks and pub closing came very late. In this situation, days and hours count. We have a time-to-double of around 11 days now, UK is just about reaching 4 days and, starting from the first fatal case, is worse than Italy was at that time.

We have the same shortages - bogrolls, yeast(!), pasta, CO2 bottles for SodaStream etc.

As I also enjoy cycling for leisure, its fantastic as there's hardly any cars about!

To be honest, the lockdown doesn't have the same "hype" as in UK. It came, people accepted it, the overwhelming majority of people practice it. Actually the only real horror stories in the news are the situations in US, France, Italy, Spain. UK hardly makes the headlines - maybe due to everyone having seen UK in the news ticker often enough during the Brexit debate.

Keep well, be sensible, and keep isolated. This stupid nonsense about a single person being met by the UK Stormtroopers when having a swim must be crazy for you. The most likely transmission in a social context is probably a chat with the neighbour over the garden fence.
