£25 Membership Direct Debit for No Membership

If the membership fee is £29 then the club should not take £25 and refuse to provide any goods or services for the money they have taken.
When I read the announcement that the membership fee was increasing I decided not to renew as they were clear that direct debits had to be authourised for the higher amount and failure to do so would result in lapsed membership.
Fine, no problems.

The question is,"how many members have had this happen?"
If it is just me, well that is fine . Just refund my money. If it is more than a few isolated cases it indicates a procedural error that benefits the club .

My membership is paid by standing order - not by direct debit. Are you sure youcancelled your standing order order instruction to your bank when you cancelled your membership after the price rise?

[align=center]Acutally it has proved difficult to contact the club as the e-mail address does not function . carl Fuss knows about the e=mail problem but i have just had my last e-mail to the club returned as a delviery failure.
Actually the direct debit should not have been presented for payment if it was for an amount that the club would not provide services in exchange for.
I am asking the question if it has happened to anyone else.

To whom on his forum are you addressing that remark?

If youhave a personal issue with the way your direct debit has been handled (or abused?)then contact Marilyn & Peter Robinson who are the Membership Secretaries and whose email address and phone number appear in the SOC magazine. Both means of communication work - I used them both successfully myself this week.
