Sorting out a couple of problem on new stag. I knew the lock was a problem when i bought it but thought "that won't take too long", how wrong can you be!
Passenger lock works fine unless you try to lock it with the key. Lock it with the key and then try to unlock it and you cannot open it from either inside or outside.
Managed to get the door card off and opened then stripped out lock. it works fine with the outer handle assy removed but refit the handle and the problem returns.
This type is not shown in either the Factory ROM or the Haynes Manuals. My question is with the key position unchanged should the 'claw lever' that engages with the rod coming from the lock mech have the 90 deg of free movement shown in the pics below or have I got a problem with the lock itself? The condition looks bad as it is smothered with Waxoyl or similar and the mech is in good condition under the crud.
Anyone have a lock out that can confirm this amount of free movement is normal? - Alan
