Stanley the Stag passed the MOT again this year but I was advised that one of the rear shock absorcers had a light misting of fluid on the exterior surface, so I'm looking at options on what shocks I can fit in place - should I fit 'standard' as supplied by the likes of Rimmers / Paddocks or what makes can people suggest that are good quality and likely to last?

Rob,
I've got KYB's at the moment which replaced a perfectly good set of Spax adjustables - long story!
i've got a new set of adjustable Spax sitting in my garage waiting to fit so the KYB's having done 1,000 miles will be for sale, complete set.
Nothing wrong with them, they give a very "settled" ride but I prefer the Spax and having the ability to adjust them.
If you're interested pm me
Cheers

I only want to fit good quality parts in the hope they will give good service and last, but that's a staggering (no pun intended!) price difference and it would be hard to justify fitting the Konis, so when you get what you pays for - what would I get (apart from a bigger hole in my bank balance).I love deadlines - I like the whooshing sound they make as they pass by!

I contacted Koni direct and they said that the discontinued Stag shocks due to lack of demand. They went on to say that only Rimmers have been prepared to place a worthwhile order, so they make them 50 units at a time. If you want Konis then you have to go to Rimmers.Chris
