Today is the Start of the rebuild

So, finally got to the Stag where it has been sitting in my mates paddock for the last 12 months, managed to get it started with not much trouble, but brakes seized, so freeing them off this afternoon and getting it transported to my unit later today ...

So hopefully, after 12 months of waiting, I can start to make some progress

    HI

Good luck, looks as if there is a far bit of body work to. Just in the middle of replacing part of rear wing and inner wing and that seems to be taking allot of time.

        Hi Tim,

Yea, it all seems to be external stuff, the floor pans, boot floor, chassis and outriggers and inner sills are all solid, I have been buying up body panels over the last 12 months, I have 2 original front wings, 2 original outer sills, 2 doors that have already been repaired and are in good condition, I am going for a nut and bolt rebuild, and modernization of much of the mechanical parts, sequential FI and sequential LPG for the engine, maybe lighter internal engine components, but waiting for some feedback from another member on the forum about that, will put a 4 speed auto box in, change the rear sub-frame and diff, uprate the brakes .. and completely refurbish the interior .. cream Leather I think with grey piping, outside will be either silver or metallic grey, not fully decided yet.

On top of that a lot of modern electrical stuff will be installed.

p.s. I am not a purist, although having said that, once this one is finished I may buy a second one to restore to completely original spec, but that is for another day ...

Sadly it won't be staying that colour .. I will be going for a silver or metallic grey, tempted by James Bond DB5 grey but not fully decided yet... purely personal preference

Aston Martin Silver birch will suit the stag, especially if you do the interior red! There was a stag in Aston Martin Sage green which looked very nice. It was for sale for, I think, £25K a few years ago.

The sage green does look very nice ... you need to stop throwing in idea's on colour .. don't want a headache choosing when it is spraying time haha
