    rear brake cylinder circlips

hi gents , I hate getting them circlips on to brake cylinders ,there is no flat metal on the backplate to slide them in from !!! Anyway my question is I've only been successful in the past getting the circlips on with the ears of the circlips pointing away from the backplate and have found that way leaves the cylinder not tight enough in my opinion, should the ears of the circlips sit against the backplate ?
Any tips welcome on this one ! Thx Graham

There is a special tool you can buy that makes this a doddle. If I get a chance, I'll look it up tonight for you, unless someone else can show it to you in the meantime.

From memory, it came from Tony Hart. I think.

I am reliably informed though by another member the bolt needs some fetling to work on the Stag set up.

The circlip sometimes goes on without too much trouble.
Usually when the chamfer is correct on the wheel cylinder!
