Diff nose oil seal - rubber or leather?

Which would you prefer? Leather is the original specification, most new ones are rubber-type with a spring.

The condition of the shaft is more important.
The leather seal will leave a greater witness, & its important to have the new seal running on a good zone of the shaft.
Most stags had the leather seal from new so will have a significant witness.
Its easier to get a new rubber seal to target a 'good zone' on the shaft as the lip / contact position is easier to determine.
      So it rubber for me.
There are 2 secrets to staying on top :- 1. Don't give everything away.
