I know that the original Range Rovers from the press fleet, known as Velors? I believe, go for very serious money indeed, so even though this own has a few oddities, I would not be surprised in the current market if it goes for quite a lot of money. It will be interesting to see what the market decides.

        £18,000 = £ 20,700

Poor seller coughs up £250 + vat entry fee & seller commision of 5% plus vat
If it goes for £18,000 seller walks away with £ 16,620.

Me I would sell it another way as Auction House takes £4,300 for selling it in Sellers + Buyer Commision

Know businesses have to pay staff / overheads / rent of NEC space but you pay to get in the door for the show - pay for a catalogue to get inside the plastic picket fence then charge you 12.5 % extra to buy a car.

Price sold won't reflect the true value of the lovely Stag - but could you actually drive it being so rare ?

Gets worse - Motor Vehicles must be collected from the sale venue by 2pm on the day after the Auction. Otherwise lots shall be removed to storage at the Buyer's expense in accordance with our Terms and Conditions.
A motor vehicle removal fee of £195 plus VAT and storage fees of £10 per day plus VAT will be incurred. = £246

As for the relative merits of auctions this is probably why Anglia Car Auctions/ are so popular for run of the mill classics.

Their last auction grossed over £1.5m but they only charge 5% Buyers & sellers premium (+VAT)

If I remember correctly they sold a very low mileage Stag for recently for over £20k.

Thanks Julian, I knew someone would put me right. It will be interesting to see if the same magic rubs off on the Stag price.

Wow that is one very rusty Stag!!!!!! It wasn't even that old when the photo was taken.

            Does RVC 428H still exist?

            Regards

RVC 428H does still exist and is in safe hands. As to whether it will be rebuilt I don't think so this year, it has all its original mechanicals engine/gearbox etc so would make a good car for reference purposes. Susan George and Dustin Hoffman used this car in Straw Dogs along with RVC 430 H. Dave

RVC 430 H is owned by the same person as 428. They wont disappear. Dave
