Planning trip to Holland & Germany

I need to go to Germany at the end of the monthand have decided to drive over in the Stag. I would appreciate any suggestions on spares to take.

Also is there a register of members willing to assist in case of problems in either Holland or Germany.

If you look in the magazine you should find the contact details for the Nighthawk Register. If this is still kept up to date, there should be contact details of people in various countries who have volunteered to assist in the event of problems.

I haven't done such a trip yet, but what you will have to check (and the ferry operator should help you) is what equipment you must carry by law in various countries. E.G Warning triangles, spare bulbs, 1st Aid kits, fluorescent jackets, etc.

As well as all the safety stuff that's recommended, my continental spares pack would also include a hose set and fuel pump. I'd also include a spare coil andwhatever you've got by way of ignition e.g. points/condensor or spare electronic ignition module. I know the latter is not cheap, but in my experience they've got a typical life expectancy of about 3 years and could choose Germany as the place to expire. You can also do a lot with some steel wire, electrical cable andduck tape when needs must.
