    Eazibleed

Should there be a seal that goes in the screw on lid of the eazibleed container to seal the pressure when attached to the tyre? I say this, as the one I am going to use is hissing and I am sure it will reduce the pressure quite quickly. Or, is it that I am just not screwing the top on hard enough? I don't mean the lid to the master cylinder, I mean the eazibleed equipment

Thanks as I intend doing my brakes today or during the week
    Cheers

Just checked mine Andrew. Definitely has a black rubber seal in the screw-on lid.

Thanks, yes, just found the seal but at the bottom of the bottle. Its very flimsy mine one and even when fitted in the lid, its still leaks air and you can feel it if you put your fingers around the neck of the bottle. So, my next thoughts are, can I get a thicker one and the measurements are 35mm across with an inner diameter of 30mm. possibly and O ring instead.

Hi Andrew, I have used one of these since I have had the car, I would use clear washer tubing on the nipples so you can see the bubbles move down the tube and the brake fluid change colour if yours is dirty. Also I would reduce the pressure on the tyre that you use to 12lbs as above this you may risk getting leaks from the seals that seal the reservoir to the master cylinder, I had this before, I did this on my new master cylinder , 12lbs is plenty enough to bleed your brakes.

Good luck fellow yellowrite, hope this helps

Also make sure your nipples are clean and not blocked

Agree with M and M, made the mistake of using a tyre that had 25lbs pressure in it when bleeding the brakes. Took me 2 days to wipe down the spill of brake fluid from off the garage and me !

I reduced the tyre pressure down to 10lbs and then found it much more controllable.

I bled the brakes on my own without the use of easy bleed kit... never found them to be very successful or "easy". Each to their own though and trust you got the job done!

Opposite for me, it has always come up trumps for me when other methods have failed, like you say each to his own.
                Cheers Steve

Interesting comment about a lower pressure. When I used it last a month ago, I had the pressure at 20psi as they said and although there were air leaks from the top of the bottle, the master cylinder was seal well but there didn't seem to be much pressure at the back. I expect to open the valve and it to fire out liquid, but it came out at the same rate as gravity, well, as good as. I was actually going to go to 25psi. I have silicone, so not worried about paintwork and the odd dribble here and there, I just want to chase out quickly any air that is trapped.

I've always found 10psi to work well Andrew
