Well, it was Roger who suggested it so here, if I can do it properly , is a poll.

For those who haven't got a clue what I'm blathering on about, I've just won, from Paul at the SOC Accessories shop, a 1/43 Stag model. The catch is though that I've got to describe and send pictures of its assembly.

Paul has offered me the choice of open top, soft top or hard top so, the question is, what should I go for and then, what colour (although methinks that may be a foregone conclusion ) - although, to please everyone, maybe I should do it like the VW Polo Harlequin

So, any thoughts folks ?

I think you should make it a barn find.Then it will not matter how it looks. I also hope that you build it in your Garage using your 3 in 1 mini tilting lift.
Are you going to call in help owed by Edd and Sam and myself. lol

If the model is the KR Replicas one (Paul didn't answer my question) then you could get the hard top version but leave the top loose. That way you can ring the changes in the same way you do with your real Stag. The picture of the model of my first Stag shows it this way

I'm rather partial to a model with cotton-wool 'steam' coming out the engine, bonnet up, on the side of the road.

Or similar, but the front wrapped around the trunk of a bonsai tree.

i've voted for the soft top option, no other model that I know of has a stag with a soft top. (assumng it is the K & R model). I really must get around to building mine sometime. Having said that, I haven't finished the radio controlled racing stag model I started years ago!

Well, thanks everyone for your thoughts and comments

It was a pretty overwhelming vote in favour of open top, so I'm going for the hardtop ..............sort of

I've asked Paul if this model is as Dave has described. Ie the hardtop lifts off because, if so, I'll have BOTH a hardtop AND an open top

l like the idea of the softop as well although, looking at the model, the hood to door gap is EVEN bigger than on my car, so I've ruled that out, I'm afraid.

I was very tempted by the charity suggestions however, with a somewhat uncomfortable conscience, I am not going to do that for a few reasons. 1) I'm not sure I could publicise it sufficiently to raise lots of money 2) I like to think I do my bit for charity with a number of regular subscriptions 3) I've hardly ever won anything before 4) I WANT IT

So, thanks again to all. I think I may go for one of the colours in Steve (therat04)'s Avatar and, right now, I'm waiting to hear further from Paul about my win - thanks again Paul.

No doubt, I'll post pics here in due course, just hope I get around to building it a little bit quicker than my garage - which, just might, get built this year - just 5 years later than intended
