wasn't aware of the event so proberbly too short notice for me .i'll see if i can find it on the web. This is were an inter active calender would come into it's own.
Can't find much about it .have you heard it's a good event in the past? It''s not far from me so if i could persuade my other half for a day pass i might be able to make it.
I went last year - although it rained, it was an excellent day with all models of Triumph there, plus the added bonus of looking around Brooklands. Its advertised in this months Magazine. I have to confess I went in the Spitfire last year, this year its the Stags turn.
Heres a general pic from last year showing the control tower there
Yes, provided you get there early enough, last year some late arrivals had to mix with the public, but most Triumph owners parked in their respective Club locations - not sure where the SOC one will be, I parked in the TSSC area last year as I went in my Spit. (photo below) At the time I didn't own the Stag. My best advise is to arrive between 9.00 and 10.00 to get a good spot in the Club parking areas. (the official opening is 10.00am but I got in shortly after 9.00 last year.) Then go to the coffee bar for a bacon butty!
So do I - just finished polishing the Stag and cleaning the alloys after a few weeks of neglect! - Now all I've got to figure out is how to stop the hood squeaking in the up position - Yes I know the obvious answer is to lower it! but I'm bringing my 84year old father with me and I think a 7.30 start may be a bit chilly for him with it down!
BTW your going to have to doa better parking job on the Stag than you did with your Spit.As far as the squeak goes turn the radio up or better still stamp on the loud pedel.
I will be leaving Exeter around 0700. I live only a few minutes from the Exeter junction of the M5/A30. Anyone else from this area going? PM me for contact details.
I anticipate being at Brooklands around 0930-1000, depending on traffic. I see it is London Marathon day, so I don't know if that will affect London-bound traffic.
Anyway, assuming I get there, I shall hopefully get into whatever Triumph parking areas are available. Look out for HYD700K.

My first Triumph show, but more importantly is that 22nd April is "Use your Classic Car Day" for ALL classic car owners, as part of a national demonstration of the level of support and interest in classic car ownership. I'm also a memeber of the MG Owners Club (don't blame me for that!) and the Jaguar Owners Club (more stylish), and both are running several events on the day. You may also remember the "window sticker" published in last months SOC Magazine. So the message is, IF you are going to get your Triumph Stag (or any other classic car) out this spring, make sure it is on Sunday 22nd April and try to ensure that its seen by as many people as possible. I'll be bringing my camera to Brooklands (1st visit for me too) and hope to display many Triumphs on my website. Make the effort chaps and chapeses!
