Also, maybe just my sceptical nature, but I'm always suspicious of this 'I'm selling this one behalf of...' stuff.

I know what you mean, car buyers tips always comment on this.

Just a thought...have you looked in the cars for sale in the back of the SOC Magazine. Probably more likely tobe genuine cars owned by enthusiasts than some other sources? Also, Puddifer (Stag specialist) in Newport, South Wales is holding an auction of Stags on 28 April, mostly I understand from local SOC members - might be worth checking out? Tel: 01633 243205

I recognise the Devon registration (bit of an anorak on such matters).
Yep, not the same anorak but enough to know its an Exeter plate.

Thanks seasidebill. I have seen them and there are a couple of options there which I'll be looking into. Doesn't seem to be a lot of activity in the East Midlands at the moment.

            Gez,

Right, let's get my anorak on . UOD is a Devon plate. Exeter, when it had it's own licensing authority, was FJ, which later became incorporated into the Devon letters along with DV, UO, OD, TT, TA.

Do you know if Howard Vesey is the guy who occasionally advertises as 'The Stag Workshop' in Classic Car Mart?Offershand built, balanced engines. There's no address on the advertbut STD code is '01202' which is the Bournemouth/Poole/East Dorset area.

                            Bill,

No Howard's STD code is not 01202. His business is mainly word-of-mouth and also for SOC Spares.
