Watham Windmill Classic Car Rally Lincolnshire

Just wondered if anyone would be interested in the following event. The Lincs/Louth motor club is holding a classic car rally at Waltham Windmill near Grimsby on bank holiday Monday the 5th of May. This is a small event butusually well attended with refreshments available and access to a working windmill. Their website is http://www.walthamwindmill.co.uk. Thinking of taking the stag out for a run myself.

Also is anyone from the forum thinking of attending the Runswick Bay Triumph Weekend later in May?

Hi Dave, you beat me to it:P, was going to put a post on about waltham and it probably being my first rally. Planning on going if the weathers fine (afraid only comes out in the dry),

Hi Baz, Waltham starts at 10am, We've turned up around 10:30 in the past and nearly been the last to arrive and get into the field. It's a great first rally - you don't have to book, you can leave when you want and it's free. (plusfish and chips from Cleethorpes on the way home).

Runswick Bay is out for us this year Dave as it clashes with the 100mile Bell Watson Border Classic run from Brigg.

Ah good looks like there will be at least three stags there if the weathers good.

Mark I haven't booked for Runswick yet and didn't know about the Brigg run which sounds like a good day out.

Thats a shame Steve was hoping you would be there. I could have easily been in the same position if the body shop had got Grahams Porsche finished as minewas next on their list, will probably wait now till the end of summer. Ive bought a replacement drivers door and the rain gutters for around the windscreen but to do them means painting the windscreen surround and the wings as well so not a five minute job.

Have you got someone sorted to do the welding?

Ive been to see Bruce about my hood and he told me he had finished your headrests were they Ok.

Don't keep the Stag off the road too long, we might get some decent weather yet:?

yes got someone to do the welding but having to wait until he is ready,Bruce did thehead rests - but as seats need to be sorted no foam in the side panels so hopefully will give him them to complete , but delay with welding putting me well behind, if I have time may pop along and see you at Waltham . Found out today that there are around 20places left on the Border Classic run. I've got someforms and I'll take them to Waltham iin case anyone is interested.

Dave,

got a call car going for welding next Tuesday - so hope can get everything else sorted thereafter as car still not running well think its the timing have enquired abt a rolling road session out at Barnetby Top (near Brigg) so they said they can sort out any timing issues and carb/needles etc....
