ZF torque converter

I need to attach the flex plate to the ZF torque converter I have.
Does the distance of about 11 cm between the center of the converter to the center of the hole sound right/ My converter is from a BMW.

If your using the Triumph flex plate, your need to redrill the flex plate to suit the BMW torque converter

There should be the fat spacer between crank and flex plate and the thin "washer style" spacer on the gearbox side at least on the T&L conversion). I mention this as the parts book (p 02-07) has both the fat spacer and the washer shownm on the gearbox side of the flex plate. This is wrong, as confirmed by Russell Lewis.

Don't forget to take the phospor bronze bush out of the crank or your TC wont fit. Fit flex plate to engine and TC into gearbox or you will never fit the 2 together in the car.

A buddy of mine in Southern CA offered me his flex plate to use as a template to drill mine. His torque converter, made by the same German folks as mine is slightly bigger. His converter was fitted to a Jag and mine a BMW. The PCD of the holes are slightly different too.
Out of the box, what is a good way to make holes in the flex plate so it mates to the BMW converter and is centered? My crude way is to use a piece of card board and punch holes through it.
